LIFE COACHING FOR COLLEGE
Helping Students Build Confidence, Balance, and Direction in life
College can be one of the most exciting seasons of life,
but also one of the hardest to handle.
Even the most capable students can feel lost, anxious, or unmotivated once they’re on their own.
That’s where life coaching for college makes a difference.
I help students develop healthy habits, confidence, and direction—so they don’t just survive college, they thrive in it.
College Is a harder
Transition Than It Seems
Most college students struggle at some point. Between academics, social life, independence, and pressure to succeed, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Many parents see the signs but don’t know how to help without overstepping.
Maybe you’ve noticed that your student:
- Feels anxious or unmotivated about school.
- Struggles to manage their time or stay organized.
- Hasn’t found close friends or a sense of belonging.
- Seems lost or unsure about their major, career, or purpose.
And while college is supposed to be a time of growth, too many students end up just trying to get through it.
Life coaching for college gives students the tools, support, and accountability they need to feel capable and in control again.
It’s not tutoring or therapy. It’s personalized guidance that helps them take ownership of their life, manage stress, and start building confidence in who they’re becoming.
How Life Coaching for College
Helps Students Succeed
Every student needs someone outside the family who will listen, challenge them, and cheer them on.
That’s what I do.
Through one-on-one coaching sessions, I help students:
Oranization
Get organized and stay consistent. Create realistic systems for classes, work, and personal life.
Confidence
Build confidence by developing a stronger sense of self and motivation.
Stress
Manage stress and anxiety. Learn practical tools for calm and clarity through any challenge.
Relationships
Improve relationships. Handle roommates, friends, and professors with maturity and communication skills.
Direction
Find direction in life. Identify interests, strengths, and next steps for college and beyond.
Each coaching relationship is tailored to your student’s personality and goals. It’s about more than fixing a problem—it’s about helping them build a foundation for success now and after graduation.

Life has a way of piling up. When it does, it’s easy to get stuck in patterns of thinking that feel heavy, negative, or hard to break. My goal in coaching is that you leave each session feeling lighter, clearer, and with a bit more hope than when you walked in.
I’m Jayc. I come to coaching with a wide mix of experiences and a genuine love for connecting with people from all walks of life. I joke that I have more degrees than a thermometer—commercial music, a bachelor’s in microbiology, and a master’s in microbiology—but what matters most to me is understanding how people think, adapt, and grow through change.
My coaching style is fun, thoughtful, and encouraging. I’m not here to rush you or force answers. Instead, we slow things down, untangle what’s been weighing on you, and work toward ways of thinking and living that feel more sustainable and true to who you are, all while getting done what is important to you right now.
Outside of sessions, you’ll probably find me going into far too much detail about things like Japanese green tea, lawns, biohacking, fermentation projects, or Passionflower vines—or unwinding by watching movies and TV shows with my wife.
If you’re feeling stuck, mentally exhausted, or just ready for things to feel a little lighter, I’d be glad to work with you.
Special focus: mindset, perspective shifts, stress, and getting unstuck
Ever find yourself weighed down by what others expect—or stuck comparing yourself to everyone else?
Yeah, I’ve been there. For the longest time, I wasn’t sure who I was, what I really wanted, or how to stop saying yes just to make others happy.
I’m Krystal. These days, I coach young adults to build real confidence and go after what matters to them—without having to apologize for being themselves.
After 15 years as a mental health nurse, I was ready for something different. Everything changed when I took a chance on myself and went to a life coaching retreat in 2016. Suddenly, I saw just how much was actually possible for me and I haven’t looked back since.
My style is relaxed and encouraging, but I always keep it honest. If you’re ready for someone who’ll cheer you on—and keep you accountable—I’m here to help you win.
I love working with young adults figuring out their next move, especially if you’ve got big dreams and the audacity to chase them.
Fun fact: If I didn’t love coaching this much, I’d be wandering the world as a travel blogger, fixing up spaces, and writing books just for fun.
Special focus: mindset, identity and transitions

About Kurtis Vanderpool
I’ve spent over 15 years helping young adults find clarity, confidence, and peace with where they are in life. During that time, I’ve worked in non-profits, businesses, and higher education—including five years as an instructor and university life coach helping students adjust to college life, discover their strengths, and find purpose.
I’m a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation, a Gallup Strengths-Certified Coach, and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) in Texas. My background blends the best of both worlds—coaching for motivation and action, and counseling-level insight into mindset and emotional health.
But more than that, I’ve been where your student is.
After college, I remember feeling completely unprepared for life outside the classroom. Working with my own coach helped me gain confidence, clarity, and peace of mind.
That’s exactly what I help college students find now.
My approach to life coaching for college is simple, real, and full of “aha” moments that actually stick. We focus on the whole person—not just grades or goals, but balance, relationships, and emotional wellness.
Because when students feel balanced and confident, everything else falls into place.
