We confuse “ministry” with “the work of God”

and think it takes a special person to do it

one “called by God.”

It’s much simpler than that,

and it doesn’t require a certification, special training, or a paycheck to do well.

Ministry is simply giving yourself to another human being,

in whatever way they need

for any amount of time

–

Ministry is not counseling, life coaching, or advice giving

It is not creatively solving someone else’s problems or giving them the best formula to turn their life around

–

It can be done with a God-hating atheist, a “hopeless sinner,” a prophet, or a priest

–

Ministry is simply caring for the person in front of you.

–

And you are the very best person for the job
